To better understand how environmental events can affect risks of viral, parasitic, and bacterial diseases, Tom Hobbs (2004) is leading a study on chronic wasting disease, or CWD, in deer. His research to develop models to predict CWD transmission and behavior has been funded by a $2.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation. Read the Coloradoan news article.
